US for fractures

    Anyone using US for fractures and no f/u x-rays?

    Nope… It’s hard to get an idea of the entire fracture with just ultrasound. Plus ortho still needs their X-rays.

    Unfortunately no….agree with Stephanie that it’s hard to appreciate the full extent of the fracture.
    Sometimes I get a feeling that simple buckle fractures might be visualized adequetly enough, but I don’t think there is enough literature for that.
    I do use it during reductions to verify good alignment, and to try to prevent repeat reductions. Still would get an X-ray at the end of procedure though….
