Supporting pediatric POCUS research and education globally.

P2Network has as one of its goals to support pediatric POCUS research and education globally through partnerships with health care providers at institutions in resource-limited settings.  Our team of pediatric POCUS experts is dedicated to advancing the health care of children through sustainable POCUS educational projects.  Among our research goals are to identify areas of need with respect to ultrasound technology availability and advancement, and to explore the best methods for expanding POCUS education on a global scale.

Global Health Fellowships/Special Projects Subcommittee

Our subcommittee’s focus is to encourage bi-directional knowledge exchange between trainees in centers with established POCUS programs and those practicing in low-resource settings. Ultimately, we hope to create a strong international network for pediatric POCUS knowledge exchange and resource sharing that allows POCUS to be more accessible for all those in need.

Global Health Curriculum Development

The mission of the pediatric POCUS Global Health Curriculum subcommittee is to create and maintain a centralized repository of educational content for clinicians that utilize POCUS to care for sick and injured children.  We are dedicated to providing educational content that is peer-reviewed and emphasizes POCUS applications in emergency/critical care environments and for resource limited settings.  Our ultimate goal is to provide suitable, language concordant curricula for widespread adoption by sonologists around the globe.  Check out the P2 Education sub-page for our most current educational resources.

Global Health Research

The Research Subcommittee of the P2 Global Health Committee seeks to connect and sponsor P2 members who are interested in collaborating on PEM POCUS Global Health research. We hope to create a repository of ongoing P2 Global Health Research so that all P2 members are aware of the ongoing broad projects to which they can contribute. We will also help connect pediatric emergency medicine fellows and US fellows to Global Health POCUS research. We can support members in initiating new research projects and managing international institutional review boards, connect researchers to perform multi-site studies, and provide guidance in grant applications and article submissions.

If you are trying to get a Global Health POCUS project off the ground, want to expand your research to be multi-center, or are looking for on-the-ground providers to help you enroll in a study for your current site, please reach out to:
